Hi, I'm Lauren.
I'm so glad you're here.
If you're considering counseling, chances are life feels heavy in some way. Maybe you're carrying questions you can't seem to answer, relationships that feel difficult, or patterns you can't quite explain. Whatever brings you here, I want you to know you don't have to figure it out alone.
I genuinely love getting to know people and hearing the stories that have shaped them. Even after sitting with 200+ people who feel just like you, it is a privilege I never take for granted.
A Little About Me
I'm a Nebraska girl through and through. I'm married to my husband, Jason, and together we're raising our two wonderful kids, who keep life full of laughter, curiosity, and just the right amount of chaos.
Most days you'll find me with a hot cup of coffee (that rarely stays hot), spending time with family and friends, listening to music, or enjoying a friendly(ish) game of cribbage.
At the end of the day, I care far more about who I'm with than what I'm doing. I've learned that some of life's greatest gifts are found in ordinary moments. Whether it's sharing a meal, laughing together, or simply enjoying an unhurried afternoon, those are the moments I treasure most.
Why This Work Matters to Me
I didn't become a counselor because I have life figured out. I became a counselor, in part, because I've experienced firsthand what it means to need hope in some of life's hardest places.
Like many people, I've walked through seasons of uncertainty, grief, and questions without easy answers. I've wrestled with fear, wondered if my marriage would become what I hoped it could be, questioned parts of my own story, and experienced seasons when God's presence felt harder to see. I've also had to learn the courage of looking honestly at myself, naming the places where I have caused harm, and taking responsibility for my part in the stories I share with others. I know what it is to long for something to be different while wondering if meaningful change is actually possible.
Along the way, I've come to believe that God often does some of His deepest work in places we would never choose for ourselves. I've learned there is wisdom in waiting, and something powerful about learning to wait with expectation rather than certainty. Not because we know how the story will unfold, but because hope allows us to believe that God is still at work, even when we cannot yet see what He is doing. He meets us in our pain with compassion, invites us to bring our whole story before Him, and reminds us that even the hardest parts of our lives are not beyond His reach.
Those experiences have shaped how I understand healing and the way I sit with others in their own stories.
They've taught me that healing rarely comes through quick fixes or simple advice. More often, it unfolds as we become more honest about what hurts, understand the stories that have shaped us, experience what it means to be deeply known, and begin to believe that a different way of living and relating is possible. Often, that work happens within the safety of relationship and community.
Today, it is a privilege to sit with people in some of life's most sacred and vulnerable places. Whether you're navigating anxiety, relationship struggles, longing for greater emotional and sexual intimacy, people pleasing, questions of faith, the impact of purity culture, or simply a sense that something isn't working anymore, I want counseling to be a place where you can bring your whole story.
I believe your story matters. I believe healing is possible. And I believe no part of your story is beyond God's ability to redeem.
It would be an honor to walk alongside you as you make sense of what has shaped you, consider what you may be ready to leave behind, and move toward greater freedom, deeper connection, and hope for what comes next.
How I Counsel
People often ask what counseling with me is like.
My approach is thoughtful, relational, direct and deeply curious. I don't believe we're defined by our hardest moments, but I do believe our stories shape us in profound ways.
Rather than asking, "What's wrong with you?" I believe a better question is, "What has happened, and how has it shaped you?"
Together, we'll seek to understand the beliefs, patterns, and relationships that have influenced your life—not to stay stuck in the past, but to better understand the present and create space for meaningful, lasting change.
I integrate attachment theory, family systems, story work, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Christian faith in a way that honors each client's story and goals.
Whether we're exploring relationships, grief, anxiety, sexuality, people pleasing, or faith, my hope is always the same: to help you cultivate healthier relationships with yourself, others, and God.
A Few Fun Facts
I've been to more than 150 concerts, and yes, I'm still keeping count.
I firmly believe a crisp Diet Coke can make almost any day a little better.
My husband and I have two doodles who make our house feel a little fuller and a lot more fun.
I love planning vacations almost as much as taking them.
Coffee is a daily necessity, not a luxury.
Saturdays are great, but any day Husker volleyball plays is my favorite day of the week. Go Big Red!
